Re’equil Underarm & Neck Brightening Cream Review

Let’s review controversial products like Re’equil underarm brightening cream and neck brightening cream today. And before you come at me for reviewing a body-shaming product. For me, it’s not body shaming at all. In fact, for me, it’s a necessity since I suffer from hormonal issues.

I get this rough and thick skin growth due to insulin issues and frankly, it’s annoying. The lightening creams I try out are not because I am insecure about the color of my skin. Instead, I try it out so I can manage the roughness and dead skin formation.

I’m suggesting these creams for those who have issues and in no way I’m promoting a lightening (skin-lightening) product. So please don’t come at me with hateful comments.

Packaging:

Both the creams have the same packaging. It is a plastic bottle with pump packaging. The color theme is white and pink, I like the color combination. It’s very lightweight to carry around. At first, I thought I got empty bottles, it feels that lightweight. The quantity is only 30g so that’s the other reason for being very light.

Formula:

The consistency is between gel and cream but when you apply it to the skin it gets absorbed like a gel. It feels cool on the skin. It has a mild floral scent, not overpowering at all. Not even for a minute, you will find it heavy for your underarms. After application, you would feel nice and fresh.

My Experience:

I personally need 2 to 3 pumps to cover one underarm and I apply it only at night. So considering that it lasted me a month. It is recommended to apply twice a day, in those terms you will need 2 bottles a month which can seem a little expensive.

Since I suffer from a hormonal imbalance I tend to get a lot of dead skin growth. That skin gets rough and darker since the skin renewal is also slow. I need the extra help so I tend to try out a lot of underarm creams. After trying quite a few I can definitely say this one has my heart. I love it enough to repurchase it even though it’s expensive.

How I like to use this cream?

I apply this cream every night but I have noticed that it works better on days I have exfoliated my underarms. Personally, I prefer using chemical exfoliation over physical exfoliation. But I use a mild Exfoliating cleanser like Dr.Sheth’s ABC cleanser. I use the exfoliating cleanser 3 times a week and then follow it up with Re’equil underarm brightening cream.

After using this combination for 2 to 3 months now the rough skin has totally disappeared and it’s not growing back either. To test out my theory of this product I stopped using it for a week or so but I continued using the exfoliating cleanser. I did notice that skin got a little rough and the darkness was coming back (even though I used a moisturizer). So in conclusion this underarm brightening cream really does work for me.

Comparison with Dot & Key Underarm serum & Bare Body Essentials Underarm Cream

The first brand I ever tried was named Orra and it gave me a really bad rash so I discounted that almost instantly. Next came the Dot & Key one. I liked using it since it made my underarm smell really nice. But I kept forgetting to use it like it wasn’t doing much for me in terms of managing the dead skin growth. I never forget to apply the Re’equil one because I enjoy it more. Also in terms of consistency, I feel you need to use the Dot & Key one longer to show results. The Re’equil underarm brightening cream showed me results much quicker. Price-wise also Re’equil seems better. If you have very sweaty underarms you would like the Dot & Key one better since it’s more lightweight and the fragrance is stronger.

If you don’t suffer from sweaty underarms then the Bare Body Essential one will work for you in somewhat of a similar way. So for me, I preferred the Bare Body essential one compared to Dot & Key. In terms of price and effectiveness, it worked better. But even that didn’t manage the dark skin very well. When I compare the Bare Body essential with Re’equil I personally, would go for Re’quil. Consistency wise Bare Body one is a little thick but it has exfoliating ingredients (glycolic acid) so you don’t need a separate exfoliator also more moisturizing & affordable. But Re’equil somehow wins for me.

Should you buy Re’equil Underarm Brightening Cream?

  • If you suffer from sweating and a bad odor problem then this is a good cream since it helps with keeping your underarms fresh. Regular usage also helps manage the sweat issue (unless it’s caused because of some other health issue).
  • Re’equil underarm brightening cream helps with the brightening part too. So it’s not gonna make your underarms fair and white. It will even out the rough dark skin and help brighten it.
  • Due to waxing or shaving, you may suffer from itchiness or dryness. This cream helps with that. It feels soothing on the skin and manages the itchiness. The hair that grows back doesn’t feel pokey anymore.
  • If you have no problems like the one mentioned above then you can skip this cream. Or if you just have something mild then you can just use an AHA serum 3 times a week and it will work in removing the dead skin too. (please don’t use a strong acid-based chemical peel) A mild exfoliating cleanser or lactic acid-based serum is a much better option.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Formula:

The consistency is more on the creamy side compared to the underarm cream. This one is more on the moisturizing side which is better for your neck but it spreads easily and absorbs quickly too. The fragrance isn’t as strong either. I can’t pinpoint what the scent is but it doesn’t matter since the scent goes away. Give the cream a min or two to completely absorb or else your hair will stick to your neck.

My Experience:

Now this one isn’t just for your neck, you can use it on your knees and elbow too. I personally don’t use it for my knees and for elbows I need something a lot more moisturizing. This one is best used for the neck because it doesn’t do much for lightening your knees and elbow anyway.

Neck skin is sensitive and ages much faster compared to your face. Especially if you tend to loose and gain weight more often (like me). So I have a lot of lines and dark thick skin growth (due to internal issues). I have used a lot of different creams and none of them have worked even 10%. Well, this one really does work at least for me it showed 50% improvement in skin color and texture. My neck area is a lot smoother and the dead skin formation has stopped. The darkness has reduced 20%. For the rest, I am gonna need something stronger like a Retinoid.

The cream also works at smoothening out the surface lines but anything deeper will take longer and stronger ingredients. I have started alternating this with an AHA serum recently and I’ll update how I feel later. Consistency is the key to this one. Only if you use it every day preferably twice a day will it show results. I tend to be extra only in my PM routine. But even when I apply it in the day I have never felt it to be too heavy on the skin.

Comparison with Bare Body Essentials Neck Cream

Even Dot & Key has a cream for elbows and knees but I’m not the biggest fan of it either. In comparison, the Re-equil one is better in terms of results and price. The Dot & Key one didn’t work for me at all.

When compared to the Bare Body Neck Cream Re’equil still wins since the Bare Body one didn’t do anything major for me. Other than moisturizing it was pretty much useless. I preferred an AHA-based exfoliating toner until I found the Re’equil one. But I do use Dr.Sheth’s ABC cleanser on my neck 3 times a week in combination with the Re’equil Neck brightening cream. The combo shows much better results.

Should you buy Re’equil Neck Brightening Cream?

  • If you have dark skin or any kind of uneven patches on your neckline then do give this a try. One bottle usage should show some kind of difference.
  • This cream is good to reduce surface lines so if you are younger or if you have started noticing lines on your neck then start using this. The sooner you take care the better it will be in the future.
  • But if you have no above-mentioned issues and just need something moisturizing then please just use your face cream. Those work just fine too. Once a week see that you exfoliate your neck especially the back of your neck.
