The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Range

I like a lot Face Shop products but this and the Rice Bright range and ooh how can I forget the Chia Seed are my favorites. There are two-three more products in this Pore Care range like the toner and serum but I haven’t tried that yet though I really wanna try the toner.
I have dry skin but sometimes I need products that thoroughly cleans out my pores and control the excess sebum on my T-zone since I do have large pores around my nose and I do get blackheads and whiteheads. This range not only cleans my pores but it also doesn’t dry out my skin.

Product Line Description:

One step closer to pure, clean skin! The Face Shop introduces a purifying pore skin care line that contains volcanic ash from Jeju Island and an urban defence complex to protect skin from pollution and make it clean and clear.

The Volcanic Lava line contains volcanic soil, a rare natural ingredient that effectively absorbs sebum and cleanses the skin’s pores. This red soil has fine pores of its own, created when lava hardened rapidly after Hallasan mountain erupted some 600,000 years ago.

Features:

  • Pore tightening face mask enriched with Jeju volcanic ash
  • This mask absorbs excess sebum for a shine and oil free skin
  • It helps in eliminating impurities for skin that looks squeaky clean
  • Brightens and clarifies your skin tone and improves skin texture

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Cleansing Foam

My Experience:

This is where my love for this range came from. This was the first one I tried so as usual my Rice Bran cleanser was out of stock so I ended up ordering this and I loved it. I use this in the shower mostly or at the end of the night as it cleans out my pores really well and it doesn’t dry out my skin. It even removes any makeup residue if present.

It smells like Ash which is basically what its made of but not in a bad way. The smell doesn’t really bother me since it doesn’t linger. The texture feels creamy on touch and it foams up really well on the skin. A little goes a long way. I have been using this for 5 months now and it will last me another month.

This is good for every skin type even sensitive skin, since its really gentle on the skin. Over a period of period of time you will notice that you will break out less since it does control excess sebum. It has helped me lot with tiny bumps and rough texture around my nose. In one month of use I saw my nose area had gotten a lot smoother. I obviously did get blackheads but not as much, so I really like it.

I would totally recommend this if you are looking for foam based pore cleanser especially if you are living in the city and traveling everyday in the pollution.

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Scrub Foam

My Experience:

So I am almost over with the foam cleanser so I thought why not try the scrub foam this time instead. Well I really like this too. This is quite similar to the foam cleanser compared to the consistency, texture and smell and how it works on the skin long term. The only difference is, it has tiny really smooth and sparse scrub particles in this since it is known as a scrub foam.

But its not even a little harsh on the skin as the scrub particles are really tiny and are very little so even if you use a rough hand on your skin while using it, its still not gonna harm you or cause any micro bleeds on your skin.

Now I really like using this on my neck, since it really cleans up your skin and we usually neglect our neck when we are washing our face at the end of the day. Since its not harsh you can basically use this everyday but use it only once a day. I use the Rice bran cleanser too so I use this one every alternate day in the shower. I have actually replaced the foam cleanser with this scrub foam in the shower. Also this makes your nose soo much more smoother then the foam cleanser. If you suffer from terrible black heads then I would suggest go for this one.

From the time I have started using this I have noticed my texture is much better comparatively but I have also noticed that this does make my skin a little dry so if you suffer from really dry skin then stick to the foam cleanser.

I would totally recommend this scrub foam cleanser but you don’t need both so you can get either the foam cleanser or this one they basically work the same. If you have sensitive skin or very dry skin go for the foam cleanser but if you have combination to oily skin and suffer from black heads then go for the scrub foam.

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Mud Pack

My Experience:

This mask is a recent purchase and well its good but its something I could have lived without. The consistency is super creamy and thin and goes on super smooth on the skin, okay so I really like applying this on my skin. As for the effect it does what a basic mask does, it cleans your skin and makes it smooth but the effects don’t last. The skin stays smooth only for the day then back to normal. When I use this after using the scrub foam then the effect stays a day or two more

This is not drying on the skin but if you have really dry skin don’t use this in the winter. This mask is more a summer mask. I actually like using this in the monsoon right now since its so humid and this mask really does unclog my pores without drying out my skin.

The mask tingles for just a second and then feels cooling on the skin. I really like using this on the T- zone. It does dry down completely and if kept for too long can give the stretchy feeling so I remove this inside 10 mins. Its easy to remove. I wet my fingers and rub it on my face in small gentle circular motions and then use a wet muslin cloth to remove the remaining mask. This way I exfoliate my skin much better without causing it any harm.

Buying this totally depends on whether you want to try this or not. Like if you are looking for clay based pore mask then go for it but if you already have mask which does the same then skip it. Also oily skin will like this more then the dry skin.

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lave Self- Heating Clay Mask

My Experience:

This is something I definitely don’t like. I really don’t get the logic of this one. I was super excited when this one had launched here and I bought it immediately. I have always liked warm mask but these ones are not available in India so when I saw this I went for it and boy was I disappointed.

So it does look fancy and you would think the packaging is practical but its not. It leaks all the time and the button is super hard to press and its very inconvenient to press it while trying to run it on face so that you can apply the mask. Also the quantity that comes out is so less that it will take you half hour to cover your face. Annoying right? wait next it only warms up for like 3 mins and literally does nothing for the skin other then causing discomfort.

I am totally giving this away. I just kept this for this review and yes I did try it other times in different ways just doesn’t work and its not even opening that I just apply it with my fingers.

I would totally not recommend this. I actually think heating/warm mask are great for pore care and the one I really like is the Body Shop Mineral & Ginger clay mask which I’ll review soon.

Price: I really can’t remember the price

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Aloe Nose Strip,

My Experience:

This is a good nose strip a little expensive but a good one. I do like the same one in Aloe variant a little more since I don’t like the smell of this somehow the smell on this lingers and irritates my nose. It does remove all the gunk out which inculcates blackheads white heads plus dirt, but see that you use a toner afterwards otherwise your pores stay open and cause excess sebum. I would say use this after the foam cleanser but before the face mask.

Check out the review where I have compared this nose strip with other nose strips:
