Deyga Beautifying Serum & Tea Tree Toner Review

I had gotten a few products from Deyga a while back to try, out of which I am reviewing Deyga Beautifying Serum and Tea-Tree facial toner in today’s post. This review took me a while since I wanted to use the serum 20 days straight to understand it better.

Packaging:

A glass bottle with a dropper. Simple and efficient packaging according to the formula. The dropper is pretty convenient to use. I feel overall the label could be fancier but I am also not that into packaging as long as I like the formula of the product. Its a glass bottle so I wouldn’t term it as travel friendly.

Formula:

It’s an oil-based serum with a very thin consistency almost like water. But it is a combination of few oils and you can feel that when you apply it on the skin since it takes a few minutes to get completely absorbed on the skin. You need to massage it in for it to sink in properly.

It has a very mild herbal scent, which you may not even smell it unless you put your nose in there. The yellow doesn’t stain your skin or hand or clothes just gives a glow on the skin.

My Experience with Deyga Beautifying Serum:

So I used this with exfoliation one week than without any form of exfoliation one week and also mixed it with different routines. Also used it for 20 days straight so see what exactly it does. So after a lot of trial and error, I have come to the point that the oil is good but it’s not the best formulation out there especially for me.

When I first started using it I really liked it the first two nights but on 3rd night it broke me out near my mouth area. But I did not stop and used it for another 2 nights and well the acne did subside really quickly but somehow my skin wasn’t loving it and my skin felt dull the next morning so I took a break for a week and a half. Went back to my chemical exfoliation and active ingredients routine and my skin got to back to normal.

When I started this back again I saw that I exfoliated my skin at least 3 times a week. This serum works better if your skin is exfoliated and acts really weird when you have a layer of dead skin. It makes the skin duller if not exfoliated properly. Also, this one doesn’t sit well if you try to layer it with gels or anything else in one routine. It works better if it’s used just by itself or with a simple moisturizer.

The oil is moisturizing but it doesn’t provide enough hydration if used too little and becomes too oily if used too much. Finding a balance is a key and that totally depends on your skin type. It feels like a tricky formulation but if you believe in the simple routine I think you would prefer this a lot more then me.

I use Deyga beautifying serum in the following ways:
  • I take 2 to 3 drops and rub it on my palms and tap it on my skin. Your skin’s warmth makes the oil sink in better. Usually, I still massage it in since I like doing that on nights I don’t feel lazy.
  • I mix two drops of the serum with a simple moisturizer. Personally, I mix it with Ilana All Day Moisturizer since the moisturizer is really lightweight and mixes well with any kind of oil-based serum.
  • I like using this as a quick massage oil. So I take 4 to 5 drops apply it all over my face and neck and then use a Gua Sha for 5 mins. I always wash it off or wipe it away after 10 mins. This way I actually like it more, since it takes care of dryness and doesn’t break me out.

Is Deyga Beautifying Serum meant for your skin type?

  • If you like using oils in your skincare routine then this is a good one to try
  • Dry skin people will like this better compared to oily skin people
  • I don’t think this is meant for acne-prone skin, it may feel a little heavy especially if you like layering products
  • If you are into a simple routine with fewer products in your routine then this is a good option to try
  • Not recommended for hot summer weather

Packaging:

Simple no-fuss plastic bottle with a really good spray on it. The mist is super fine and evenly distributed which I really appreciate. You can easily see the quantity so easy to keep track of how much you used up.

My Experience:

Let’s start by saying that I have dry skin so tea tree toners for me are quite hit and miss. This one is both for me somehow.

I really like the mist on it, which is also very refreshing on the skin. But it doesn’t do what it should do for me. For me, tea tree toners are great because I am prone to allergies and tea tree-based products help me with calming down the allergies. I also prefer Tea tree when it comes to acne and bumps on my skin. This toner from Deyga doesn’t solve these issues for me immediately. It helps cool my skin and helps with allergies to a certain extent but doesn’t really help my acne and bumps.

Also every time I use this it feels hydrating for a few mins but then later on my skin feels a little tight even if I follow it up with hydrating products. This works for me when it is hot and humid but it doesn’t work for me when it’s dry and cold especially in an AC environment.

What I end up doing is I use this and follow up with some rose water mist for hydration the combination works better for my dry skin. Now, this tea tree toner is great to be used as a scalp mist too if you suffer from itchiness and oily scalp.

Is it meant for you?

  • If you have very dry flaky skin then this isn’t for you.
  • You would like it if you have oily skin since it controls excess sebum.
  • But it doesn’t do much in terms of controlling acne.
  • Great for open pores.
  • Perfect for refreshment throughout the day especially on a hot day.
  • Better in summers compared to winters (can be drying in cold weather) So not meant for you if you live in a dry environment.
