Best Vitamin C Serum in India with Price

Looking for the best Vitamin C serum in India? Then this post is for you. Currently, there are so many Vitamin C serums in the Indian market that it has become super confusing to decide which one is meant for you.

But if you are one of those who don’t know what is Vitamin C and exactly what does it do? Then this post is for you too. I have pretty much-covered everything there is to cover.

If you are living in a bubble or new at skincare game then you may have no clue about Vitamin C and what it does? Some of you know about it but are confused about how and when you can use it? I constantly hear a lot of myths and misconceptions about vitamin C.

What is Vitamin C and what does it do for your skin?

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals, Because of its antioxidant properties, vitamin C aids in your skin’s natural regeneration process, which helps your body repair damaged skin cells.

Benefits of Vitamin C:
  • Anti-Aging: Vitamin C is an antioxidant, meaning it protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure.
  • Great for pigmentation & PIH: It inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance.
  • Glowing Skin: Vitamin C is best if you dull-looking skin as it brightens your skin and gives you a glow. The more you use it the better difference you will see in terms of glowing skin.
Does Vitamin C work for oily skin?

If you use the right Vitamin C serum meant for your skin type it will actually help you with acne and the marks & scars acne leaves behind. But it’s not a serum that will control your oil production so just keep that in mind.

Which is the best Vitamin C serum for oily skin in India?

You would enjoy using water or gel-based serums more compared to using something that is oil-based. Most Vitamin C-based serums feel sticky but just give it some time to get absorbed into the skin. If you use something that hydrates and has vitamin E in it then you can actually skip moisturizer too. But don’t forget your sunscreen.

When to apply Vitamin C serum AM or PM?

Vitamin C serum is typically applied once a day. The best routine is to cleanse, tone, apply vitamin C serum, and then moisturize & sunscreen (in AM routine). It is suggested that vitamin C serum should be applied in the daytime routine since sunscreen really helps in keeping the UV rays out. But if you don’t use the right kind of SPF with it then it can cause major damage to your skin so be careful. See that your sunscreen is SPF 30 or plus and you apply it every 3 to 4 hours. Frankly, I believe that it totally depends on your preference when you want to use vitamin C in your routine. Also depends on what other ingredients you are using in your routines.

How many times in a week can you use Vitamin C?

You can use it every day it totally depends on the sensitivity of your skin. As for me, I like using vitamin C 3 to 4 times a week. I personally prefer using it in my PM routine since I am lazy in the mornings. If you have very sensitive skin then use it 2 to 3 times at first then increase the number of times as and when your skin gets used to it. This also depends on the % of Vitamin C serum you are using.

Why does vitamin C oxidize?

Usually, when vitamin C is unstable it oxidizes. If the product has darkened or otherwise changed color, vitamin C has likely oxidized. Although the product is still safe to use, it no longer carries the same benefits. The new serums in the market are made with stable ingredients therefore not to worry about the constantly changing colors of the serum.

Which Ordinary Vitamin C Serum is the best?

They have so many that I cannot in my right mind sit and discuss that. You will have to check their website and write down your concern and they will help you out in choosing which one is meant for you. That’s the best way of deciding which one will work for you. Also since Ordinary isn’t easily available in India I am not specifying it here.

What is MAP and SAP in Vitamin C serums?

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is a derivative of Ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C. Upon topical application, MAP is converted into Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) as it crosses the epidermis.

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate(MAP), together with Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) has been shown to overcome many of the problems associated with Ascorbic acid in the delivery of these benefits to the skin.

Which is better vitamin C or hyaluronic acid serum?

When it comes to hyaluronic acid vs. vitamin C, they have many of the same benefits. While hyaluronic acid protects from UVB rays, vitamin C minimizes damage from UV lights caused by free radicals. Most serums nowadays have HA molecules added in Vitamin C-based serums. This makes your skincare routine a lot simpler and easier.

Does Vitamin E make your Vitamin C serum better?

Definitely yes. As a dry skin girl, I love when the two come together and make a power duo. Vitamin E makes vitamin C work at its best while hydrating and giving your skin double the anti-aging benefits.

Can Niacinamide and Vitamin C used together?

Yes, you can. Now, most doctors say that you can use them together and they do not cancel each other out. But I don’t like it when dermatologists change their thoughts. And since I fall in the sensitive skin category I tend to not mix them in the same routine. The combo makes my skin itch like crazy. But a lot of Vitamin C-based products have Niacinamide in small doses and that’s perfectly fine since they are formulated together. That makes them good kind of buddies.

What you shouldn’t mix with Vitamin C?

Well Vitamin C is an introvert and doesn’t like to mix and play well with other ingredients. The ingredients you should never use with vitamin C in the same routine are

  • AHA & BHA (skip Vitamin C on chemical peel day)
  • Retinoid (don’t even think about it unless you want red itchy skin)
Which is the best Vitamin C serum in India?

Martiderm Vitamin C Ampoules.

DSP-BRIGHT 30 AMPOULES. These are different than a serum. The percentage is 5% but it is more concentrated. Shows much better results. The glow is pretty much instant. It’s a good option to try if your skin is already used to vitamin C and can handle a proper concentrate.

  • Price: Rs 5450/- for 30 ampoules. Now you use these every day or alternate days or use them on special occasions. It is recommended to use half an ampoule at a time, but be careful the other half can oxidize pretty quickly if you don’t use it in 24hours.
  • SHOP NOW on Sublimelife’s Website (code: MERCHANTPOST for 10%)

There is no hard and fast rule that you have to start with lower % but if you like your skin don’t mistreat it and be cautious of what you use on it. Vitamin C is great for your skin no matter what but at the same time, you have to be careful while using it. Don’t use it if your skin barrier is weak it will burn and cause a rash. Please always do a patch test before using a new vitamin C serum. And please never skip your sunscreen.

Hopefully, this wasn’t too long and too confusing. If you are confused about anything leave a comment below and I’ll try to solve it. Thanks for reading it till here. I truly appreciate it.
