Packaging:

It’s a plastic squeezy tube packaging and is very simple, lightweight and easy to carry around. Perfect to travel with. Black tube with details written in white. The shade name is on a sticker on the back which can come off very easily. You can control how much comes out, it does get a little messy but can be cleaned really easily too.

My Experience:

I got this foundation because I was seeing amazing reviews on it. People who hated Nykaa also liked this foundation so I had to give it a try and its good that I did because I do like it.

The texture of the foundation is thick and creamy but blends easily on the skin. Its medium coverage you can obviously build it up but too much and it will look patchy especially if you wait for it to dry then go over with another layer. In one coat it looks pretty natural and I love that. It does have a weird chemical smell and it doesn’t bother me much since it doesn’t linger on the skin but if you have a very sensitive nose you may want to stay away.

I like the way it blends on the skin. I like using a brush {Wise she Pro foundation brush is my fav for this foundation} with this since it gives me better coverage but a beauty blender will give u a much better finish. Don’t use your fingers because it will take time to blend and the foundation will dry up in parts and look patchy. If you have dry skin you will prefer beauty blender and if you have oily skin use a brush. I have dry skin with an oily T zone I prefer a brush. It does oxidize a little bit, not anything major.

You will need to moisturize beforehand otherwise the foundation clings to dry patches on your face. Also, it is water-resistant but it’s not waterproof nor it is completely sweatproof so if you are super oily please set your face or skip this foundation in humid summers. It doesn’t have SPF so you will need to apply sunscreen. If you have large pores use a pore filling primer because the foundation does emphasize open pores.

The finish on the skin is demi-matte but it does stay tacky so even though I have dry skin I still set it with white translucent powder so it doesn’t transfer. Don’t use a heavy full coverage powder it will look cakey. This way the foundation does stay longer and doesn’t fade easily. It does tend to crack up around my nose very quickly and that happens with almost all foundations since its a weird texture there. The nose does get oily but also has dry patches that why it breaks there faster. It fades around my mouth area first around my smile lines. Overall the foundation stays on me for 6 to 8 hours depending on the weather conditions.

Well in the picture you can clearly see that the foundation is clinging to my dry areas and my pores around my nose area are seen since here I haven’t used any primer. You can still see my scars and pigmentation peek through but that’s fine since I don’t prefer full coverage anyway and this way the foundation looks more natural and skin-like. I do feel the shade is dark for me since it does oxidize a little but the lighter shade is too pink for me.

Shade: 08 Pure Olive has a neutral to warm undertone and I like that. The chart says its yellow undertone but its more neutral.

In terms of the formula the Loreal Pro-Matte is similar but the loreal one isn’t tacky and is more long-wearing but Nykaa is cruelty-free. The loreal one is more on the warm side and I like that. For oily skin, the Wet & wild is more on the matte side.

How I apply it: I like mixing it with an illuminating moisturizer like a strobe cream or a gold oil since I have dry skin this way it doesn’t emphasize my dry areas and gives me a nice dewy finish. I do set it with powder and use a setting spray. I mostly use a brush but on occasions, I use the beauty blender when I know my skin needs extra help. In the pictures above I haven’t mixed the foundation with anything and haven’t used a hydrating or pore filling primer. I do prefer using a primer with almost all foundations.

My Recommendation:

For the price, I think it is okay it could be cheaper but you can always wait for a good sale. If you are looking for a foundation and you have combination to oily skin you would love this foundation. If you have very dry skin you will need to mix this with some other foundation or illuminating moisturizer. If you have dry skin then you would like this more in the summers. I do recommend this foundation but only if you need it. They do have 15 shades still not enough for the deeper skin tones but most of you should be able to find your shade.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 out of 5
