Packaging:
Peel off mask usually come in a tube packaging which usually works but the formula on this one is very runny so that’s why a tub packaging seems better but at the same time you have to be very careful not to tilt the tub is any way otherwise you are gonna have a black sticky mess everywhere. The brush that comes with the mask does a great job of applying the mask evenly and does get cleaned easily too. Overall the packaging is good could be better but its comparatively much better than other tub packaging I have seen or used.
My Experience:
I’m not a peel-off mask fan in general since I have dry sensitive skin and also because I recently started shaving my face so peel-off mask with facial hair wasn’t the best idea that’s why I always stayed away from any kind of peel-off mask but this one definitely changed my mind. I only shave half my face, I don’t shave my forehead I tend to stick to sideburns chin and upper lip. I used the mask all over even my forehead {where I do have hair} It didn’t pain me in any way while I was peeling off.
The trick to applying this mask is to apply a single thin layer. The consistency is really thin and runny, when you apply it to your skin you see holes forming { I feel the mask is breathable if that makes sense} This in no way alters with the working of the mask. It takes 10 to 15 mins to dry. Give it 15 -20 mins for it to completely dry. Masks tend to dry quicker on you if you tend to run a hot temperature that happens with me. So for me, it dries in 15 mins but the problem is, it doesn’t come off in one go, I need to remove it in parts, it breaks (maybe that’s because I apply a really thin layer) I have noticed that this way it works the best for me and it doesn’t hurt in any way while peeling it off.
This peel-off mask removed the blackheads from my nose and chin it also removed the whiteheads. It doesn’t pull hair out though unless it was already lose. If you have very stubborn blackheads then this won’t work because it’s not that harsh on your skin like a nose strip. Mostly I prefer using this on my nose (instead of nose strip) and on my upper lip and chin area.
The scent is a little strong and it does linger so if you have a sensitive nose skip it. There are two types of alcohol present in the mask which you need to understand better so adding the description google thinks is best. If you don’t want the technical you can skip this part and move forward.
- Polyvinyl alcohol, also known as PVOH, PVA, or PVAL, is a synthetic polymer that is soluble in water. It is effective in film-forming, emulsifying, and has an adhesive quality. It has no odor and is not toxic, and is resistant to grease, oils, and solvents.
- Benzyl alcohol is an aromatic alcohol with the formula C₆H₅CH₂OH. The benzyl group is often abbreviated “Bn”, thus benzyl alcohol is denoted as BnOH. Benzyl alcohol is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant aromatic odor. It is a useful solvent due to its polarity, low toxicity, and low vapor pressure.
Now the part I don’t like is the added fragrance because that makes it problematic for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin. Otherwise, the mask will work for everyone. This mask does deep clean your pores and gets rid of any dirt or pollutants giving you smooth clean skin. But the mask does get drying (skin feels a little tight) so using a hydrating skincare routine as a follow up does work better. Like I would suggest using a sheet mask {if you use them} or a hydrating sleeping mask after using this peel-off mask so your skin PH level is managed.
I have dry skin but I do like using this once a week for the deep clean. Any kind of peel-off mask does get messy so when you do use it see that you have time and patience to do it. Also while peeling if off use dry hands, wet fingers make it messier.
My Recommendation:
If you are looking for a peel-off mask that doesn’t hurt and is mild on the skin but also removes blackheads then this is a really good option. If you have very sensitive skin especially to fragrance then skip this otherwise works for all skin types. If you are prone to cystic acne then any kind of peel-off mask isn’t recommended.
