I’m a matte lipstick lover and that comes with some cons like dry lips and residue stain from the lipsticks especially if I was wearing a dark or hot shade. Scrubbing your lips is super important here. Not something I had heard of when I was a teenager but now its the thing you do without fail. Scrubbing your lips makes them smooth, soft, plump and also even-toned if you use the right one and regularly. This is something that you can either make it at home using kitchen stuff or you can buy a ready one from any brand. The following are my two current favorite ones. Now I don’t scrub my lips every single day I do it every alternate day/night or when I’m using a lipstick that needs the extra attention. Always follow up with a balm after scrubbing/peeling your lips.

My Experience:
I love this one a lot. I love that it has lip scrub as well as a lip balm in it. It easy packaging. This is a plumping lip scrub and it does that but it doesn’t sting or burn in any way and you won’t be getting kylie lips but it does work. Also, this has helped in making my lips more even tone. I have pigmentation on my upper lip and that’s hormonal so that’s not gonna go away but the scrub has helped lessen it a little. It smells strongly of the cinnamon so if you don’t like cinnamon then you won’t like this. I don’t love the scent but I also don’t hate it. It works for me. The brown sugar is very finely milled so it doesn’t hurt and it’s super easy to spread and use.
Now the lip balm in it I use to prep my lips before applying lip balm since its a little waxy which helps the moisture stay in and the lipstick goes on smoothly on top. Thick nourishing lip balms usually are slippy and make the lipstick feather so I prefer this. But if I had to choose one I would pick the scrub. I like that more then the balm.
My Recommendation:
Definitely a yes. I have used a lot of other lip scrubs this is my fav if you don’t like the cinnamon scent ENN has other lip scrubs without the balm too.

Innisfree Lip Peeling Booster
My Experience:
This is a new addition to my collection. I needed something I can easily carry with me wherever I want. Sometimes I want to remove the matte stubborn lipstick I’m wearing and reapply it or apply something else then this really comes in handy. Or when I want to use it at night or before lipstick application but I don’t have time to use the sugar scrub then I prefer something like this. You can also use the stick sugar scrub available in a lot of brands but I had tried this when my friend was using it and I had really liked so I bought this. This only smoothens your lips doesn’t really nourish them but it does make your lips look soft and plump right afterward. You obviously don’t need this and scrub, you can get one which you like I’m just extra that way. Now all you have to do is apply the liquid on your lips and let it sit for 30 sec to 1 min and then rub your lips with your fingers and the dead skin will come off then wipe it off with a tissue or a cloth that it. It’s super simple and effective.
Price: Rs 450/- and it’s not available online, it’s only available in their stores.
My Recommendation:
If you don’t like sugar scrub and don’t like the mess they create then you can go for this peeling booster or if you want something to carry around then this is a really good option with less hassle.

Lip Balm is the way to survive not only in dry and cold weather but in every season since we all love our lipsticks and most of us love our matte lipstick too much we need the extra care and hence a step known as lip sleeping mask was invented and I’m so glad about it since I started using lip sleeping mask I have lost the habit of carrying lip balms in my bag everywhere. I apply either of them every night without fail.

My Experience:
This is my fav and I can’t say it enough. All the hype is real and this is it for me I’m not interested in lip balm or lip sleeping mask anymore. I’m gonna marry this one. Okay, that’s too much but on a serious note, it is really good. I have the mini one I am gonna repurchase the bigger one next but the mini one is super cute and handy to carry or travel with so I prefer this size more. Now coming to the texture it’s creamy and not too thick. It does feel like a mask for your lips. I prefer using this at night since its too creamy for the day for me. Also, I don’t use this under liquid lipstick since it makes them slippy. I apply it right before bed and it stays on my lips even in the morning. Most lip balms fade off super easy this one doesn’t. It makes my lips soft and smooth. I have noticed fewer cracks on lips since I started using this. Also, I don’t feel the need to use lip balm in the day since I use this at night. I have the berry flavor they have vanilla too but its not available in India. The scent of the berry isn’t strong and I like that.
My Recommendation:
Definitely yes but I also know some people don’t like it and still prefer using vaseline if you are one of those then you skip it. I was never a vaseline fan and never will be.

My Experience:
I love using this just as much as the Laneige one but I bought this a year before Laneige and I have really used this. Like you can still see some but seriously it’s a big tub and even though I used it religiously for year it still has a lot. Even my mom uses this, it helped her a lot during her very cracked bleeding lip phase. Very little goes a long way thats why I think its totally worth the investment. The tub is big so I don’t like traveling with it.
This has the same benefits as the Laneige one since its a sleeping mask too but its not as creamy and it is a little sticky but not in bad way. In fact, even this stays till morning. This can be used in the day too since it’s not heavy, can be used under liquid lipsticks. It doesn’t have a strong scent, in fact, you can barely smell it so the ones who hate scent would love this. My friend really likes this one, she isn’t a fan of the Laneige one.
I prefer using this at night and it makes my lips soft and smooth in the morning. This helps in making my lips even-toned the Laneige one doesn’t help in that area, but this doesn’t help with the lines in your lips so I prefer laneige one in that area. I don’t use lip balms in the day anymore I don’t feel the need to.
My Recommendation:
If you don’t like the Laneige one then go for this one, works the same way but just a little more sticky and less creamy but just as nourishing. This works great in the day too.

NYX This is Everything Lip Oil
My Experience:
Now the people who have the worst chapped lips ever gonna need this oil in their life. This helps to make your lips look nice and plump and nourishes them while making them look shiny and nice. I don’t really feel the need to use anything in the day but when I do I prefer using this oil. This has a really sweet scent to it which I like but if you hate scents then skip this. This can be used above matte lipsticks to make them shiny and it doesn’t make the lipstick feather which is perfect.
Price: I had bought this a year or so back at Rs 900/- I can’t remember exactly since I can’t see this online anymore. I’ll have to search again if I find it I’ll link it here.

I have used and I still love lip balms but I just don’t feel the need for them anymore since I started using lip sleeping mask. I do always suggest wearing a lip balm with SPF underneath your lipstick but I’m lazy myself there so I don’t own any right now. You can always just use the Nivea or vaseline lip balm or boroline but I just don’t prefer them since they don’t work for me and this lip care routine has been working for me for the last 2 years so I’m sticking to it.
