Packaging:
This serum comes in glass packaging. The look of it is like most of Dr.Sheth’s products. Brown color bottle with a black cap. It comes with a pump that is easy to use. The bottle does have some weight to it since it is glass but it’s not too heavy and can be carried for travel purposes. Most of the information is on the box it comes in and the name and key ingredients with usage are on the bottle. I really like the pump on this one.
My Experience with the Cica & Ceramide Serum:
I instantly fell in love with this serum.
What else sold me on this cica & ceramide serum is the ingredient list, I love the ingredient list on this one. It has all the goodness whether you have dry skin or oily skin. What sold me is the presence of Marula Oil. I have replaced coconut oil & almond oil with Marula oil when it comes to my skincare. I have realized Marula oil does a fabulous job of nourishing your skin without clogging it. And this serum has all the star ingredients like Squalane and Hemp oil. It also has Niacinamide so it not only nourishes it also brightens and smoothens out your skin.
The serum is soothing and cooling on the skin. The texture is between gel and cream. It’s lightweight so doesn’t clog your pores but for oily skin, it may seem a little heavy on the skin. Give it some time to get absorbed on the skin. I know it says serum but if you have oily skin consider it as a moisturizer. I have dry skin so it absorbs on my skin and I follow it up with a sleeping mask or facial oil most nights. It’s meant as an overnight serum but it can be used in the daytime routine as a moisturizer just don’t forget your sunscreen. It does have a scent that isn’t overpowering and I actually really like the way this smells.
I use a lot of different products for reviewing and most of them nowadays are chemical peels so they can sensitize my skin but using this serum has really helped me. I really like using this especially after I have used a chemical peel mask like the ordinary peeling solution. It makes my skin feel plump and soft. Also, it doesn’t break me out so I love it. Takes care of any dry patches that happen out of now where.
How I like to use it:
- PM Routine: I prefer using this after I tone my skin and then follow it up with a sleeping mask {mostly I use the DrSheth’s Haldi & Hyaluronic acid sleeping mask}. The other way I use it is I mix a few drops of facial oil with the serum and apply them to my skin. I usually massage it on my skin, it helps the serum and oil to sink in better. I use this every other night since I don’t use actives every single night. (you can also add in your AHA or BHA serum in this and use it as a buffer)
- AM routine: Now in the day I just use this after toning and then follow it up with sunscreen since in the day just the serum is hydrating enough for me.
- With Retinoid: If you are someone who uses retinoid-based skincare then ceramide is your BFF. Ceramide helps with the peeling you suffer from because of retinoid.
My Recommendation:
If you are someone who uses active and chemical peels in your skincare routine then you should definitely try adding ceramide. Since it helps to build your skin barrier which tends to get sensitive due to all the chemical ingredients. If you have dry skin you won’t find it heavy at all but if you have oily skin you may find it a little heavy but then you can just use the serum as a moisturizer or use it only at night. If you have dehydrated skin or sensitive skin or you are prone to acne this will work for you too. I will definitely repurchase this one.
It’s a year since I wrote this and I still constantly repurchase it.
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
{eventhough this is on the expensive side I do love it and most of all moisturizers in the market which have ceramide are in the same price range so I’m okay with repurchasing this which I do all the time now}
