Packaging:
It comes in a small compact roll-on applicator. The roll-on is metal making it extra cooling on the skin. The application is super easy, this makes the reapplication throughout the day also easy. I can easily carry it around me which right now is nowhere. Thanks for being home all the time.
Roll-on applicators are great for soothing and depuffing the under eyes. The color combo of the packaging is also soothing. The bottle itself is glass so be careful about dropping it but it doesn’t feel too heavy. Brown glass body with cap plastic cap and metal roll on. All in all a good quality packaging for a small Indian Skincare brand.
Note: If you have an eye infection please avoid using the applicator directly or clean it. Also do not share with anyone else for hygiene purposes.
Formula:
The formula definitely surprised me. So I tend to stay away from oils for under eyes it can feel heavy and irritate my skin. But this one is different even though it’s oil it feels like water when you first apply it. The consistency is super light and blends easily. Use your finger’s warmth to spread it around that’s when you will feel the oil. It’s not heavy at all, in fact, it absorbs super quickly. Most days I end up layering another cream on top for the added moisturization. Since I have dry to dry under eyes. On top of that, a little goes a long way so your basically using one bottle for at least 3 to 4 months minimum. Even if you use it two times a day.
It does have a scent. The scent is natural from the oils and it does smell strong but it is very soothing and not overwhelming. If you smell it closely you will smell the fennel oil on top. The scent goes away in 5 to 10 mins anyway.
My Experience:
Personally, I don’t suffer from extreme dark circles or genetic dark circles. For me, it’s mostly my insomnia (plus k-drama addiction) that makes my under-eye condition worst. Plus my hormonal imbalances cause pigmentation and puffiness. I’m very expressive so yes I have fine lines. Dry skin and aging don’t go well together. So when I say I try out a lot of under-eye products it’s so true. You can also check out my other reviews if you doubt me: CLICK HERE
I love the formulation on this under-eye oil especially since it helps with puffiness without irritating my skin like most under-eye oils. If you have basic discoloration and fine lines this under-eye oil does work. But the process is slow so minimum give it 1 month of regular use. Even in terms of puffiness, it didn’t work instantly for me, it took a week and a half to see some difference. It is definitely soothing and that does happen instantly. So if you are someone who spends a lot of time on screen and has tired eyes then this roll applicator really helps. I used this for 3 months to review it so patience is the key here.
If you have genetic dark circles or a lot of wrinkles you are gonna need a stronger active ingredient. This one won’t help in that case. I have been combining this with a retinoid under eye cream for one month and I see much better results. My under eyes have never been smoother and even with all sleepless nights combined the puffiness isn’t as bad either. I use the oil in the AM routine and retinoid cream PM routine.
Makeup Test:
So I did test this one out with an under concealer to see how it layers. I had no issue in fact it made my concealer go on smoothly and did not separate throughout the day. (but I only tested this at home since I don’t go anywhere)
Whether you should buy the Bliscent Under Eye Oil or not?
This one works for all skin types including sensitive skin so if you are looking for a good undereye oil that will help with
- mild discoloration
- fine lines
- puffiness
Then do give it a try. But if you are someone who doesn’t like
- roll-on applicator
- under eye oils or essential oils
- or suffer from genetic deep dark circles,
then this one isn’t meant for you. I made this argument as simple as it could be. Hopefully, that is helpful.
Comparison with Juicy Chemistry & Skog Under eye oil:
Now I know a lot of you would like to know how it compares to other under-eye oils in the market. Especially with the roll-on applicator. I have personally tried two others there are obviously more than that in the Indian market but I’m one person. Frankly, after using these two oils I stopped using oil for my under eye till Bliscent sent me their new launch to try out. I’ll be adding in a comparison table with all three under-eye oils so it’s easier for you to decide. Do read till the end.
Juicy Chemistry Prickly Pear, Chia & Tamanu Review
I bought this under oil from Juicy Chemistry in a full haul I did of the brand to try their reformulated products. Usually, I like juicy Chemistry but half that haul was a disappointment including this oil. The ingredients look super promising but the fact that there are so many is what went wrong for me I guess. There is something that triggers and stings my eyes. Even though the scent is strong I like the scent it’s soothing but my eyes don’t. They get red and watery every time I use this so I couldn’t properly test this one out to check whether it works for dark circles or not.
The consistency is oily but it’s not super heavy so if you have dry to combination under-eye skin you can use it. Also, to keep in mind it does react to some skincare products, especially strong actives. To shop this product: CLICK HERE (code: MERCHANTPOST for 20% on Vanity Wagon’s Website)
SKOG Under Eye Repair Oil Review
So I got this SKOG under-eye oil in one of the monthly Subscription boxes from Vanity Wagon. I would never personally spend that much on just an under-eye oil. Plus, I do find that the product is super pricey even after basic discounts. I couldn’t use this one a lot because it kept feeling heavy for me. Every time I applied this, I kept feeling it on my skin for a while and that bugged me. It wasn’t helping with puffiness. It did help in moisturizing, but that feeling went away if you stopped using the oil for more than a day. I personally feel this oil is better if you have dry mature skin. It will help with crow feet much more than dark circles. To shop this product: CLICK HERE (code: MERCHANTPOST for 20% on Vanity Wagon’s Website)
