My Experience with Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Gentle Peel :
When I first got it I used it as a lotion at night twice a week. I washed my face, then used toner and followed it with this gentle peel. I did wake up with super soft skin but I also broke out and not because it was heavy on the skin, I broke out because it has lactic acid and I hadn’t used anything else with lactic acid in it and it took my skin a few tries to get used to it. The acne I got also didn’t stay long since I kept using this anyway.
The formula of this is gel-like but feels creamy when you apply it to the skin. It feels thick for a min or two till it absorbs. You don’t need to follow it up with another cream since it’s nourishing enough by itself even for dry skin. Oily skin may think it is heavy just give it a few mins. It does have a scent that I am not the biggest fan of but it doesn’t linger for too long. The fragrance is sensitive skin safe.
That’s one way to use it which I prefer mostly but the other way to use it is by applying a thick layer of this on your skin like a mask. Leave it for 10 to 15 mins then wash it off you can also just wipe it off (with a cloth) This way is better if you are a beginner in chemical exfoliation and do not use any other products that have chemical ingredients also known as AHA & BHA.

When I apply the gentle peel it feels cooling on the skin, it doesn’t tingle like other chemical exfoliators. It is very soothing on the skin and it is not drying either. Usually, chemical exfoliating peels are really drying and need to be followed up with a very hydrating routine. This gives you a glow and softness to your skin the next day since this is meant to be used at night anyway. The process is slow though so if you want to see a drastic magic effect this doesn’t do that. It takes at least a month to show good results.
Now if you are someone who is already using the Ordinary Peeling solution and is used to that kind of chemical exfoliation this is gonna feel like nothing to you at first. Because I felt so too at first but then I noticed this is milder and it works too, in fact, this is better for our skin since it doesn’t make it extra sensitive and is mild enough that even people who are scared of chemical exfoliation can use it without worrying.
Multi-purpose uses:
A few extra ways I like using this gentle peel and have been loving is using it for my neck. I have seriously bad patches so I started using this on my neck on a regular basis (4 to 5 times a week) since it’s gentle and doesn’t sensitize my skin further. It took a while to see a difference but it is working in fact I’ll keep using this on my neck for at least 5 months and update you guys then. Now the other way you can use this is if you get tiny bumps on your arms you can apply this two to three times a week in that area, it helps reduces the bumps to a certain extent.
Overall I really like this since it’s mild soothing and is great chemical exfoliation for Indian skin which can be used on a more regular basis. Never skip your sunscreen in the day especially if you are using any kind of actives the night before.
My Recommendation:
If you are looking for hardcore chemical exfoliation this gentle peel isn’t the one for you. But if you are a beginner and want something mild then this is a great option for you. Looking for AHA which you can use more often than you would really like this. Are you looking for BHA then this isn’t for you. It works for all skin types even if you suffer from acne this works and won’t break you out as soon your skin gets used to the chemical. I do highly recommend this for beginners. If you already are using other products that have chemical ingredients AHA and BHA then you skip this.
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
