Packaging: The lipstick tube comes in a cute cardboard box with all the details printed on it. The lipstick has classic glass packaging with plastic cap, looks super fancy and classy and even though its glass its not super heavy. The cap is white so it can get dirty easily. The new shape of the lipstick is square, the old packaging was around and black cap. Its a screw cap, see that you turn it till its shut properly. The applicator is a regular small doe foot applicator. Now a lot of people think stiff applicator don’t work that well, but I feel there are some formulas which need a stiff applicator. Its flexible enough so you can get the corners on your lips but not too flexible that you can’t control it. I do like the applicator, it gives an even application. I like the packaging but its a little bulky to carry it around in your bag.
Formula: Now the formula of this lipstick is not that traditional. Infact they say that its comfortable wear and will transfer a little through out the day which is true. Its super comfortable to wear and it does transfer a little not much. Now it doesn’t really feather but because I have the dark shade I prefer using a lip liner around it just to be safe. The consistency is very mussey and feels velvety on the lips and is really comfortable to wear. Its long lasting just like the name says.
**For reference If you guys have used the Colourpop ultra satin, its quite similar to that just the consistency is different.
My Experience: I wanted to get my hands on an OFRA lipstick forever so when they launched on Nykaa I just had to get it and I obviously got the Kathleen lights color Havana Nights. My experience is based on this color and I can’t be sure if all the colors work the same. But mostly from what I have seen reviews the formula is consistent with all colors and they do have a lot of colors but in India there are only half available which as usual sucks.
This last a good 8 hours on my lips, it does disappear from the middle if you eat something oily but because I have the dark shade it stains so it doesn’t look weird. It does get a little drying after 5 hours but its not bad. You can always apply lip balm underneath but see that you remove the excess otherwise your lipstick will slip and slide. Also this doesn’t emphasis the dry patches or cracks on your lips, atleast not for the first few hours of wear I like that.
No lipstick last on me like the L’Oreal Pro matte other then the Colourpop ones but this came quite close. The best thing I like about this lipstick is that even though the color is dark its not patchy at all and looks even on the lips. Also the lipstick is pigmented but if you want full opacity you need two swipes. But I kind of like that because if I don’t full pigment I can just go with one swipe and it still looks super pretty. At the end of the day, you will need an oil based remover to remove the lipstick.
Havana Nights: Its a red based vampy colour which has purple undertones. Now this does look different on different skin tones. On me its more pinkish dark red whereas it looks more maroon on yellow undertones. I really like the color.
Over all really like the lipstick but it is expensive so I wouldn’t say you need this in your life. You can get it if you really love liquid lipstick and if you don’t mind spending that much on it, otherwise you can skip it. But OFRA is known to make the best nudes so you can check those out if you really want to invest in one.
