Packaging:
The bottle is glass which feels luxurious but it’s super heavy so if you are clumsy like me be very careful. Also, the cap is silver and feels smooth so if your hands are wet/damp/sweaty or just dirty the cap with slip off easily so don’t hold the bottle with its cap. It comes with a doe-foot applicator instead of a pump which I am not sure yet whether I like that or not. Personally I prefer pump bottles or just a squeezy tube but this one is okay. You can’t share the applicator with anyone so be careful especially if you or the other one suffers from active acne. You cannot travel with it, the bottle is heavy and bulky but it definitely looks good.
Formula:
The consistency of the foundation is not very thick nor very runny. Its somewhere in between and it blends super easily on the skin. Its medium coverage buildable but don’t layer it too much like not more then 2 coats. You can use this with a brush and a sponge. I prefer sponge even though you end up using more since it gets absorbed but I have dry skin so it gives me a better finish. If you have oily or combination skin you can use a brush too. The formula does oxidize a little nothing major. On me, it turns a little too warm (orange). It does have a strong scent but it doesn’t linger on the skin once blended in.
My Experience:
My major problem is the shade range is less in the Indian market which is basically the case with all brands and I hate that. This shade isn’t the perfect match for me but it works if I sheer it down or mix it with a cooler tone or neutral foundation. The shade is okay but when it oxidizes it gets a little orange on me.
The shade I am using is MW2 and I am NC 35-37 in Mac I tend to tan easily so I end up keeping different colors to mix and match. This shade is perfect for people who are medium skin tone with warm undertones. I prefer a more neutral undertone but the ones with neutral undertone were a little to pink for me so I went for this.
I like that this foundation has SPF makes it the perfect day time foundation but I always do use sunscreen underneath no matter what. It doesn’t have any major flashback so it works but for night time I wouldn’t recommend this foundation.
I have dry patches on my skin especially around my nose and have an oily T-zone so a lot of foundations break around my nose or look cakey this one does break around my nose nor looks very cakey. The finish of this foundation depends more on your skin type so on me its matte but if you have oily skin it will be more demi-matte. I always do a good skincare base underneath so I don’t suffer from patchiness. The foundation goes on smoothly even without a primer that doesn’t emphasis pores. If you have large pores use a pore filling primer and use a sponge to blend this foundation out for a better experience.
When you apply the foundation on the skin it feels cooling and I think that because it has hyaluronic acid which gives it a smooth base too. I have sensitive skin and this didn’t break me out. If you have dry skin you don’t really need to set this foundation. I only set my T zone and under my eyes. If you have oily skin do set it otherwise it will transfer.
The foundation does stay a good 6 hours then starts fading starts from my chin area but that’s because I touch my face a lot. Bronzer, blush, and highlighter go on easily without any patchiness. I would say keep it away from under eyes because it does crease there. It will crease around your smile lines in 4 hours so just set that area so it doesn’t crease for another 2 hours or so.
Also If you like mixing oils or liquid highlighter with foundations you can easily do that with this foundation. It doesn’t break or look weird on the skin if mixed with oil so that’s good. The foundation itself doesn’t feel tacky and sets in 5 mins but if you mix oil it will not completely set so you should set with powder so it doesn’t transfer.
My Recommendation:
If you are looking for a good natural medium coverage everyday day time foundation then go for this. Since the brand is cruelty-free and the foundation feels good on the skin and all skin types whether dry or oily can use this. The major part it has SPF 20.
