Packaging: It comes in classic Nykaa pink-orange ombre cardboard box with all product info printed on it. The stick round and matte black which gives a good grip while applying. Nykaa is written on the cap in silver (mine is a little faded). On the bottom the shade no is printed. The stick is retractable which is of okay quality. It doesn’t give you problems if handled with care. The stick is sturdy even-though the plastic is of okay quality. It is quite travel friendly as I have traveled with it on occasions. Overall a simple and classy packaging.
Formula: The formula is creamy and hence dewy on the skin. The consistency is thick so blending does takes extra effort. The coverage is medium. Its not super blendable. You definitely need to set it as it is dewy and it also transfers. They have total 7 shades. It comes with SPF 15.
My Experience: I have used this foundation stick for almost a year now. I brought it the moment it launched. I do prefer a foundation stick on a daily basis especially when I’m running late and also while travelling. I have used this foundation stick in many ways and my favorite way to use it is first use a proper moisturizer (as I have dry skin). Then I apply stick directly on my face. I use my fingers as the warmth helps to blend it better. I also use a big dense brush ( a dense brush gives no streaks). I set it with a light powder. It does oxidizes a little so I use it with a light shade powder (otherwise the shade looks muddy on me). I don’t think its buildable as it does get cakey after 2 coats. It doesn’t have flashback even-though it has SPF 15.
I think 02 shade does have yellow undertone but it looks more on the golden side because it oxidizes a little on me and 03 looks straight out orange. It has strong pink undertone. I use a setting spray on top as it helps with with longevity. Without setting spray it lasts around 4 to 5 hours. With setting spray it lasts 6 hours. Its not completely waterproof.
It tends to break down around the nose area in an hour (as i have oily nose) It does transfer if not blended and set properly. It does tend to stick to dry patches. Its not the best foundation for humid weather (saying that from traveling experience). This stick would be perfect for normal skin. Dry skin people will have patches issues and it won’t last long on oily skin people.
Recommendation: Over all its an okay foundation stick as its very economical and convenient. The darker shade is quite good for cream contour. But Nykaa definitely needs to expand their shade range of their base products.
I prefer this stick in cooler weather over humid weather because it lasts longer. I would recommend this stick foundation if you like cream contour.
I would recommend not to use it like a concealer because it does creases and settles in your fine line.
