My Experience:
I’m so glad I got this concealer because I do really like it. Now my fav concealer of all time is the Maybelline Age Rewind and I still really like that but I like this too just in a different way. The coverage is basically the same and both are medium plus buildable but maybelline is crease less to a certain extent if I don’t set it, its okay but the Colourpop does crease a little on me so I do set it but only with a loose powder, a coverage compact makes it look cakey because I have creases under my eyes.
Also the concealer dries really quickly so do one eye at a time. But at the same time blending is easy and not a hard job. It can sit on your skin and look cakey if you have really dry under eyes. I have dry under eyes but it doesn’t look bad on me also when I feel my under eyes are too dry I use an light based eye cream. The finish is matte and it doesn’t move or melt away during the day even in humid weather which I like. It does fade after 6 hours but not a lot. The consistency is not very thick nor very runny, its blendable. I prefer using my fingers to warm up the product then use a brush but you can use this with a beauty sponge too, I just feel a beauty blender takes some coverage away from it.
I also use this as an eye primer because its matte it makes my eye-shadow lasts longer without creasing and fading easily. Eyeshadows tend to crease or slip away easily on my eye lids because I have oily eyelids. This concealer gives me an even matte base to work with.
People who have oily under eyes will love this. If you are someone who has too many wrinkles and creases and dry pores then skip this, it will emphasis texture. I use this on the days I want to look put together and hide my marks and dark under eyes. I usually don’t need to use a foundation with this concealer. I use this all over my face too sometimes and I don’t set it with powder and it stays put for atleast 8 hours which is good for me as I too tend to touch my face during the day. It doesn’t transfer which is good too and its water resistant but not completely water proof. But it won’t look blotchy or melt off easily either which I love in a concealer.
The packaging is good, glass tube with white plastic screw cap. Easy to carry around since its light weight and not bulky. I like the applicator too, picks up the right amount of product not less nor more and spreads easily. Also I think its quite affordable even after paying customs and international delivery charges. I bought this from crimson.luxe on Instagram and I had pre-ordered it so it took some time to get here but she kept me updated and delivered it as soon as she could. I love their service so I would always recommend them. Also my cousin got a shade too from her. Swatched both for you guys to see it.
Shades:
** For reference: I am somewhere in between shade NC 37 and NC 40 (I have pigmentation and I tan easily so I never have one shade I tend to keep both dark and light and then mix and match accordingly)
Medium 26: This is the shade I’m using. It has yellow undertones so I like it. Its actually my skin shade so I like using this all over my face without looking weird. It also helps with my dark circles so it works for me.
Medium Dark 30: My sister got this shade for her. Its her exact color and it has pink undertone but it does look orange on my hand and looks greyish on my skin tone. This works as a peach corrector for her because of her undertone. She really likes this concealer too.
Now if you are looking for a concealer then I would totally recommend this for the following reasons:
- Colourpop has a lot of shades for lot of different skin tones and skin color (you can check out their online swatch list, its very helpful and correct)
- The finish is actually very good once you know how to work with it
- It stays for a good amount of time
- Its affordable (ya the quantity is a little less compared to other concealers but I still feel its affordable)
- I really like the applicator wand super flexible and picks up the right amount of product also helps in spreading it.
- The important reason I love it
Now why you shouldn’t buy it:
- You already have enough concealers to finish first
- If you have a lot of creases under your eyes
- If you have dry pores or dehydrated skin patches under your eyes
- It can look cakey or heavy if you apply heavy coverage powder to set it.
- Also it dries fast so work quickly (not a con in my books but it could be for you so its here)
My Rating: 4/5
(I don’t love concealers easily but I do love this one)
