1. Biotique- Bio-Papaya Revitalizing Tan-Removal Scrub
Product Description:
This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure papaya fruit to dissolve dead surface cells, unclog pore openings and smooth the way for clear skin to the surface. Gentle refining action uncovers skin’s natural brightness for a younger-looking complexion.
Features:
- It exfoliates dead skin and unclogs open pores
- Keeps the skin feeling smooth and refreshed
- Lightens and brightens skin tone
- It is suitable for all skin types
- Organically Pure & preservative-free
- Dermatologist tested for safety, no animal testing
Key Ingredients & Benefits: Papaya is a luscious tropical fruit known for its rejuvenating and healing benefits. Full of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, papaya can act as a youth activator and natural exfoliator to revitalize skin without inflammation or irritation.
Packaging: It comes in a white small round tub with a dark green lid which opens and closes up twisting. The packaging is simple and basic nothing too fancy. The quality of the plastic isn’t the best but it is sturdy enough. It’s lightweight so its travel-friendly, but be sure to screw the lid securely as sometimes the excess product dries and gets stuck around the lid which makes twisting a little difficult.
Texture: The texture of this scrub is thick and muddy and the granules are small and brown in color. It has a strong ayurvedic smell but it is pleasant. The consistency of the granules is fine enough for exfoliating without being too rough on the skin. It scrubs away all the dead skin without making the skin red and itchy. It doesn’t strip away the natural oils from your face thus making it perfect for all skin types.
How to use it: Take a small quantity in between your wet fingers and apply it on your face, neck, hands, wherever you want to get rid of tan. Use circular and upward movements to scrub that will gently exfoliate as well as give you a massage experience together. Massage it for 2 mins and let the scrub sit for 2 more mins then wipe it away with a wet cloth. (if possible use a muslin cloth, its great for sensitive skin)
Claim: Basically this scrub is known for tan removal and has also won Nykaa.com Femina Beauty Award 2018. The claim is true if you use this product regularly for a period of time. It will show results, but it’s ayurvedic so it does take time to show a significant result.
A little product goes a long way, as you need only a small quantity the tub will last you a while. After a single-use, you will see that your skin looks smooth and bright as it clears blackheads and whiteheads too. It completely cleans your pores.
Rating: It has amazing reviews on Nykaa 4.5/5
Pro: The major point goes for its affordability. It gives you great skin at budget-friendly pricing.
Con: The packaging could improve as using the scrub regularly makes quite a mess as you have to dip your fingers in it. (Using a wooden spoon is recommended for hygiene purpose)
Tip: Use this mask two times a week. If you feel your pores get clogged a lot because of dirt and pollution then you can use it up to 3 times a week.
Price: Rs 199/- for 15gm
My Ratings:
Update: I would give this 3 star now out of 5 because I have used much better scrubs which to the job of removing tan and work as a mask too also this scrub shouldn’t be used by sensitive skin people. The packaging of the product has changed and they have tube packaging now which helps with the unhygienic issue.
2. Biotique Bio Fruit Whitening and Depigmentation Face Pack
Product Description:
This luxurious de-pigmentation pack is blended with the juices of Pineapple, Tomato, Lemon and Papaya fruit to visibly lighten skin for a fairer, flawless look. With regular use, skin reclaims its soft, smooth, youthful tone and texture.
Features:
- Lightens your skin and reduces pigmentation marks.
- Softens and makes the skin smooth, giving a youthful radiance.
- It is suitable for all skin types
- Organically Pure & preservative-free
- Dermatologist tested for safety, no animal testing
Key Ingredients & Benefits:
The fruit has been the “juice of health and vitality” since the beginning of time, rich in essential vitamins, nutrients, and natural skin brighteners.
Packaging: The packaging is the same as their tan removal scrub, a white tube with a dark green screw lid. It comes with an additional white lid inside known as the stopper to avoid spillage but that actually makes more of a mess. It would be better if it came in a tube packaging, but the tub is sturdy enough.
Texture: It’s a clay-based mask in brown-red kind of color. The texture is quite creamy for a clay mask. The use of a face pack brush is definitely recommended, otherwise, it will be a messy application. The smell is strong and ayurvedic but doesn’t burn your eyes.
How to use it: I usually use this after I have used their tan removal scrub. Both combined give a better result as compared to using it individually. I apply this mask on my face and neck using a thin face mask brush and leave it on for 10 to 15 mins. It does have a tingling sensation at first but it goes away in a few mins. Once its completely dried, I wipe it away with a wet sponge or a wet muslin cloth. It instantly gives you a glow that lasts for 4 to 5 days.
If used regularly it gives a bright look and your tan reduces after every use. But it no way it whitens your face. It doesn’t completely help to get rid of pigmentation either.
Rating: The ratings on Nykaa 4.3/5

My Ratings:
Update: So I would still give this 3 stars since I do still have this but now I just prefer using this for my feet or hands to remove the tan I have found much better face packs that remove my tan much better. The packaging of this pack has also changed and gotten better.
Overall view: I have been using this combination of scrub and mask once a week for the last 5 months. They are good together and I do see a difference but nothing drastic. Maybe if I keep using it will show some more difference. I will keep you updated on the progress. But if you want to buy one product I would recommend the tan removal scrub as that works well by itself as compared to the mask which doesn’t do much on its own. But as their budget-friendly and natural, they are good products to try.
Update: I actually don’t use this as much anymore. I use the pack for my feet now during pedicure and I gave the scrub away. But this combo is still the cheapest that is available in the Indian skincare market. But if you see in terms of economical and the way it works I would suggest checking out Mamaearth instead.
Tip: Always use a sunscreen if you are stepping out especially after using the scrub and mask. Also, use a moisturizer after you are done with the scrub and mask, it will help in restoring your skin’s PH balance.
If you do pedicure and manicure at home or if you have tan on your feet and hands, you can use these two products in your shower, it will help in removing tan and dead skin and making your skin look bright.
Availability: It’s available online as well as offline. You can find Biotique products at every supermarket and beauty stores in India. They have their own website www.biotique.com
as well as you can find these on Amazon, Nykaa and other online sites too.
For reference: I have dry and sensitive skin and have pigmentation around my lips and on the outline of my face. I’m not prone to acne but I do get heat boils due to weather change which do leave marks sometimes. I have a few blemishes too on my face.
*P.S: All opinions are my own and honest. The above-mentioned products are bought and paid by me. What works for me may not work for you. Trying before buying is always recommended. Check out a few reviews until your satisfied.
**I in no way promote fair skin and do not believe in fairness products but I do have dull skin so I like product which brightens my skin and gives me a glow. I don’t like the word whitening in the name of the product but as I’m a blogger I do give them a try for review purposes.
“If you have come so far *you get a virtual hug* Thanks for the time and do come back again for more such amazing reviews”.
