Seer Secrets had gotten in touch with me to try some of their products out and do reviews on them. They told me I could select the products which got difficult for me since they have huge variants of products.
When I see the ingredient Lavender I immediately want to try them out. Since I have sensitive skin that turns hot, anything that is cooling calls out to me. So I got two products that have lavender as an ingredient. In this review post, I am gonna talk about them in detail.
Side Note: All products came from Seer Secrets itself so I did not place a lot of thought on the name on the serum bottle. But the serum is from Sage Apothecary. Their products are available on the Seer Secrets Website.
Sage Apothecary Hyaluronic Acid, Belgium Lavender & Tapioca Starch – DAY SERUM
Product Description:

Packaging:
The serum comes in a brown glass bottle with a pump packaging. It works fine according to the consistency of the formula. The pump hasn’t malfunctioned on me yet so no issues there. All required information is printed on the bottle itself. It comes in a matching color scheme cardboard box. The packaging is easy to use and carry around since it comes with a small transparent cap.
Formula:
The formula of this serum is water-based. The consistency is very runny and extremely lightweight that it instantly absorbs onto the skin. Since it has hyaluronic acid its recommended to layer it between a toner and a moisturizer. The scent of lavender is actually mild and not overpowering in any way. It’s very cooling on the skin, you will feel that instant you apply it. Since it’s liquidy it is very easy to apply too.
The serum makes your skin feel soft & smooth. Also helps with dehydration and surface wrinkles & lines. The formula does contain essential oil so if you are not a fan this isn’t for you.
My Experience:
Definitely a different kind of serum. I was intrigued because it has two cooling ingredients like hyaluronic acid & lavender. That’s the major reason I wanted to try. As a dry skin, anything with HA screams (call is too understated) out to me.
This serum helps me a lot to cool down my skin (I usually tend to run hot) I have noticed the mornings I use this my allergies don’t flare up as much either. But this doesn’t do much for me in terms of rash or insect bite like it does soothe but only for a little while. Also, this doesn’t do anything for spots, marks & pigmentation.
This serum is mainly to cool and hydrate. But it can be drying for me if I don’t layer it well. This is usually the case when it comes to HA-based products they need to be applied on damp skin and need to be layered. I use this serum in the mornings when I know I am gonna be in the kitchen in front of a hot stove. It helps me since it’s lightweight I don’t sweat and it helps to keep my skin’s pH level in check.
I like this serum a lot more in hot humid weather not really enjoying this in the dry cold weather as much. I feel if you are oily skin and looking for something lightweight, hydrating & also cooling then you would prefer this serum a lot more.
My Recommendation:
If you have very sensitive skin especially towards essential oils then this serum isn’t for you. Only if you are looking for something that is hydrating and cooling at the same time & also lightweight then you would like this serum. If you are prone to allergies or rashes or redness then you would prefer this a lot more but you will need to layer it.

Packaging:
Comes in a regular plastic spray bottle like most facial mist. The mist is really fine but the spray can be goofy sometimes. It sprays properly most times but suddenly in between, it doesn’t spray at all. I do think the packaging could be better. The quality of the plastic is good but not environment friendly. Important details are printed on the bottle.
Formula:
The formula is like a regular lavender mist. Very cooling on the skin and helps calm your skin down. It does have a strong lavender scent. It is hydrating enough for a quick mist in the middle of the day.
My Experience:
I don’t use this facial mist in my am & pm skincare routine because I think it doesn’t do a lot for me in those steps. Instead, I use this anytime throughout the day. Usually, I use this when my skin feels hot or itchy because of the heat. My skin burns up really quickly so if I am under the sun for too long or in the kitchen near a hot stove my skin turns red. That’s when I love using this. It instantly cools down my skin and refreshes me.
It is also great to use at night right before I sleep or to just spray some on my pillow or on my wrists to calm my senses down. I am a restless sleeper ingredient like lavender help somewhat.
Tip: If you suffer from anxiety you can spray a lavender mist on your pulse points like your neck & wrists. It helps in calming your breathing. The scent alone helps in relaxing you.
Some days I use this mist a lot more and some days I forget about it. usually, I keep this near my bedside. I also use this if I get an insect bite since I tend to get rashes often and then the skin gets itchy & red this facial mist really helps.
My Recommendation:
Unless you are a fan of lavender scent and mists, you won’t enjoy this facial mist. If you are prone to anxiety and restlessness or skin burning then you can give this a try. Overall I think it’s a good product if only the packaging did not malfunction every now & then.
