My Experience with Disguise Cosmetics All Day Gel Kajal:
I love everything Disguise makes so I had high expectations from this one and I bought this the day they launched and have been using it ever since. Is it bias if I say I love it already but I do. I did a mini-review on Instagram stories 2 days after I got this and I had swatched and have done a demo of how it stands underwater and how resistant it is. You can still check that out on my highlights named mini-reviews.
This kajal is two in one and can be used as kajal and eyeliner. The pigmentation is really good. You get really good pigmentation at one swipe and it doesn’t skip or tug. Since the tip is fine you get a nice thin line even after the tip gets blunt it’s still small so it works really well at precise application so I love using this as eyeliner. Also, it’s matte and smudge-proof. It dries pretty quickly so if you want a smudged look you need to do one eye at a time and quickly. I love using this in tight-lining (it’s the line between your eyes and your lashes the fold basically) The point in doing so is that it makes your lashes look fuller. But I had stopped doing this since no other kajal worked for me (I did use Sugar heavy duty one but the tip of that can poke you since its wooden pencil)
It doesn’t make my eye water when I apply this on my lower lash line as kajal a lot of kajal do but this one doesn’t and it goes on pretty quickly too since it’s soft but it’s not too soft that it will break easily. I had stopped using kajal because it makes my eyes water since I have super sensitive eyes the same problem with tight-lining but now I love using this kajal for that.
Staying power:
It stays on my upper lash line for 8 hours but the density of the black does reduce after 5 hours of wear also if you constantly touch your eye (which I do). On the lower lash line, it stays for only 5 hours and then just fades away. That’s the max for me for any kajal actually the Nykaa eyem24/7 does stay the same 5 hours on me but it does make my eyes water compared to this Disguise all day kajal. It’s pretty water-resistant. Even if you rub your eye with wet fingers it doesn’t disappear or comes off easily it just losses its intensity a little.
You need to use a proper makeup remover to remove it at the end of the day. When I applied this on my lower lash (underneath the lash line for smokey effect) It really didn’t come off easily with micellar water. I needed a special eye makeup remover (I use the Body Shop one).
The biggest pro of this kajal is that it’s twisted up and you don’t have to worry about sharpening and it’s creamy for being a twist up kajal because most aren’t. The price point is also good enough.
Comparison:
Kay Beauty Raven Hue: This one I haven’t reviewed in detail yet since I have started using this a few months back but I did travel with this and I like it but somehow I like the Disguise one more and therefore I reviewed that before this. I’ll talk about this kajal when I talk about other Kay beauty products. You will see in the swatch that this one looks more smooth and even out compared to disguise one and it is but if you swipe the Disguise one two to three times it also looks smooth and even out on the eye.
Nykaa eyeM24/7: This is a twist-up kajal and does a really good job but I’m not gonna reach for this as much since I like the Disguise a lot more comparatively. In the swatch, it looks like this one is more black compared to the Disguise one but on the eyes, it’s the same since this one does tug and pull as and when the formula gets old and dry. This one is cheaper compared to the Disguise one.
Plum Nature studio kajal: This is a lot like the Disguise wise compared to the formula but a little more creamy since it’s a wooden pencil. But this smudges more compared to the Disguise one.
Sugar Heavy-duty khol 01 black to black: This is still my fav kajal of all time and the pigmentation on this is more compared to Disguise but this one doesn’t twist up and I have to worry about sharpening which I hate. The staying power of this is also more but this also makes my eye water if I apply it on the lower lash line.
I have reviewed almost all of these kajals and more in a full blog post to check that out if you haven’t already.
